This year they invited Dr. Jay Wile as one of the presenters. One of his sessions was entitled "The Scientific Case for Christianity". It was refreshing after seeing the movie "Expelled" and seeing many of those who have gone into science state they are now atheists, to hear Dr. Wile state that his scientific research led him to Christ (by the Grace of God).
Of course, one of the best parts of the convention was getting to visit with my friend's 15 year old daughter. Those of you who fear teenagers should not fear! She is a teenager that I love having around. She speaks articulately and listens carefully. One of our discussions was whether it would be easier to convince a home schooled male to become Confessional Lutheran or a Confessional Lutheran male (not home schooled) to have a "home school" attitude. Any input on that one? We're still debating.... :)

Confessional Lutheran males tend to be committed to Lutheran education. So if you're in a place where there's no Lutheran school, he may easily be swayed to homeschooling (or at least schooling-at-home).
Homeschool males are most likely to be firmly committed to their religion (or lack thereof). That might make it hard for them to embrace what a confessional Lutheran female believes. However, the Holy Spirit works when and where He pleases in those who hear the Gospel, and some people will respond with enthusiasm when they are presented with the beautifully true doctrine.
