Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is my Grandma's Birthday. My Mom and Dad, Aunt and Uncle, Angela and Travis and my cousin went to celebrate with her. Here's a photo of Grandma at her birthday party:

This Week

Blogging will be sparse again. I go to the convention starting on Wednesday. Brian's parents will be here with the girls.

I could just about blog for all of next month if I had internet connection. I have Wednesday night totally by myself in the hotel room.  Unfortunately, this is a hotel that likes their internet and charges dearly for it. Not gonna pay for that.

So, after nearly living on my computer for the past month getting ready for this event, I will be off-line. I might actually get to read a book. Maybe I can finish one of the 5 or 6 I've started reading!

Back on the subject of the convention, I'm all set up with my printer now. Our webmaster purchased a printer this weekend and brought it to me. We got it all set up and it works like a charm. It's a printer/scanner/copier, but it is still quite compact. And it was only around $50! I now have no worries about computers and printers at the convention. I have the new Mac and the new printer - all is well.

Time to get to bed. I think I've done as much as I'm going to get done for today.

Camp is Back!

I know, some of you have NO idea what I'm talking about.  Here's the scoop:

I work a Band Camp each summer and have done so for 21 years. It is a love of mine - I love seeing the growth of the kids as they make music. I get to be behind the scenes as secretary during the week and organize the program for the week.

Camp was in trouble this year. With all the financial issues facing every business, the University was not immune. The president of the University's answer was to shut down campus (including air conditioning) on Friday, Saturday and Sundays, which would affect camp. We run from a Sunday to Saturday. We were told that we would have to operate within the university schedule for the summer or not at all.

We asked for letters. I even started a Facebook group! Parents, students, staff all wrote letters and we just found out that we have permission to have our camp WITH air conditioning for the entire week!

Now, it's back to work for those of us planning camp. We have lots to do to get this thing organized and running at full speed again!

While the Cat's Away...

Ok, not away - just working.

Here's what they did one day last week while I was working. I paused to get a picture, of course:

Taking After Her Father

He can fall asleep anywhere. (I have stories) I don't understand it. I have to TRY to go to sleep when I finally get into bed. My brain just mulls around on all the things I have yet to do. It's really annoying at times. Panda doesn't have a problem falling asleep either - see:

Happy Birthday

My sister, Angela and her husband, Travis, celebrate their 32nd birthday today!  Happy Birthday to both of you! HUGS! (isn't it fun that they have the same birthday - makes it easier for the rest of us to keep track!)

This post IS your birthday card  - by the way!  You wouldn't really expect to see a card from me in your mailbox, now would you?!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is my Grandma's birthday. We are so thankful that she is still with us. Last year around this time, her health was taking a turn for the worse. It got so bad that hospice was called in. The Lord graciously restored strength to her and we are able to celebrate another birthday with her on this side of heaven. Here's a picture of my Mom, Grandma, Panda and I nearly 3 years ago! (I don't have many pictures of Grandma - she hates having her picture taken!)

(By the way - if you are getting excited that this is the 3rd post in a row - I'm cheating. I decided to add a bunch at once and schedule them while I was sitting here at the computer. So stay tuned, there might actually be more to read tomorrow...)

Surprise! It's Me Again!

Whoa. Pick yourself up off the floor. Yes, I'm making another post - that make two days in a row!

Well, I just had to post today. Since Monkey got her haircut, I've been curling it on Sundays because it is so think that it looks terrible when she wakes up and I can't do anything else to tame it down. So, this morning while I was curling Monkey's hair, Panda decided she wanted hers curled too. This was the result:

Ok, I'm totally biased - but that is CUTE! I love it.

Darn, now I'm going to have to curl it every Sunday...

Jump Right In, Friends - add on - last call...

E.C. had the idea of a story starter for my blog so here's the first one. We'll see how it goes!

Here's your chance: Add on to the story. Maybe we could even add on to each other's story in the comments section. It could be interesting. Play along if you want to:

An Unwelcome Winter Guest

The fire had completely burnt out during the night. It was so cold that I woke up shivering and sniffling. I could hear Father's loud snoring, and I knew he was still sleeping soundly.
"I'll get the wood for Mom" I thought, and I slipped on my shoes to go outside. I barely had the door open when I saw her looking right at me.

Have Fun!!! I'll check back later!

Weekly Update

That's about all I'm up to until March!

Let's see  - this week:

*I worked on a record number of registrations. 94 came in on Wednesday. I have never had that many in one day. I was up until 3:30 a.m. working on those. I called it quits at that time and worked on it the rest of the next morning and half of the afternoon. I think my computer chair has now conformed to my rear end... (that can't be pretty...)
*At the same time I got the record 94 registrations, the work computer decided to start crashing. (isn't that always the case...) I emailed (on MY computer) the error message that came up on my screen. Our technology manager emailed back that my computer is in danger of a complete crash and when that happens, it will NOT work again. Ever. Thank goodness for jump drives. I had been saving all along. And I was able to bring the computer up again and I MADE SURE that I dragged everything to that jump drive.
*The good news was - I get a new computer. The better news is - it is a Mac!  The best news is - it arrived today!!  *happy dance, happy dance*
*The girls have left a path of destruction (you *think* I'm kidding...) throughout the house that I will be lucky to catch up with in two weeks,  by the time Brian's parents come to watch the girls while we are gone to the convention.  UGG!
*We are all well - no illnesses recently. That is a good thing.
*I'm listening to lots of episodes of Issues, Etc while I'm at my computer. I'm still months behind...
*We (Little Lucy, Lucy and I) celebrated Little Lucy's 16th birthday this week. She shares a birthday with her dad. The boys all celebrated by going to a basketball game. I'm not sure who had more fun. (I vote for us - it was a nice quiet little celebration - I'm getting old - quiet is nice).

Well I'd better run. I have registrations to do, a house to clean, grocery shopping to get done and a new computer to set up. Thanks for checking in!

Still Here

How about you? Any readers left with my scattered posting?

It's getting busier here. Registrations coming in all the time! So, when I'm not tied to the computer (the other one - the work computer), I've been trying to get out and enjoy some of the wonderful sunshine that we've had recently. It's been 70 degrees here lately and I LOVE it! Wish my office was OUTSIDE on days like that. (of course, it would be a bit too windy...)

We're all back to good health here and just trying to keep up. Not much else to report. I really should go to bed. (which means that I'll get there after another hour or so of doing a bunch of stuff before I can get to bed...)

I Can Fix That

I gave Panda some Honey Nut Cheerios for breakfast this morning and then left to get dressed and find clothes for everyone for the day. I came back toward the kitchen and Panda was walking through the dining with a large handful of Cheerios. I looked at her and told her to get back in the kitchen and that we don't eat food all over the house. She looked at me then looked at her handful of Cheerios and proceeded to stuff ALL of them into her mouth and then smiled with her little chipmunk stuffed cheeks.

What is it??!! and an update...

I'm talking about the story again. What is this creature? You all have me very curious. Someone shed some light on this story please! (or at least make up something else fun!)

Yes, I've been absent from blogging again. It's been another busy week. I have had sick kids again. Back to the antibiotics. Looper mail is still down due to the ice storm, so it's been very quiet on the email. I've had some thoughts to blog about, but just didn't get to them!

Monkey is determined to make unintentional gigantic messes. This time she woke up in the middle of the night and needed to go to the bathroom. Problem: she tends to sleep walk and doesn't know what she is doing. So, she wet in her pants and proceeded to walk around the house dripping and then went back to bed (wet). All of this happened while I was taking a shower and Brian was asleep. I only found out because Lady Bug came and told me that there was a trail of water or something down the hallway, through the music room and to the dining room. Another hour or so of clean-up and Monkey was bathed, bedding and clothing in the wash, and carpet washed. I wonder why I'm tired....

I hope all of you are well!

By the way - we did enjoy a beautiful 70 degree day today! I can live with that!

Story Update

Well, well, well... my little anonymous friends (they know who they are and so do I) struck a chord (pun completely intended) in our story. Poking fun at bassoon players and their teachers. Hmmm. That's ok. I know where they live.  -cue the ominous music-

Don't make me end the story.... pretty please! You all are doing such a great job! I laugh each time something new is added.
