Mission Festival

Sunday was our annual Mission Festival at church. We were privileged to have Pastor James Dahlke from Columbia, MO (who is the father of one of our church members, who is a fellow home schooling mom) as our guest pastor and presenter for the Mission Festival. We missed the presentation during Sunday School since we were on our way back from out of town.

We were fortunate to enjoy a very well done sermon. The kids especially enjoyed it since he opened the sermon with "Humpty Dumpty". That caught their attention right away. He compared Humpty's broken condition with our own and that neither "all the king's horses and all the king's men" nor Humpty himself could put the pieces back together again. He stated that we are very much like that. We can't put ourselve back together either. We need Christ and his death on the Cross to put us back together again. His sermon was more lengthy than this summary and better worded!

Following the service we had a catered dinner (Yum!) and a presentation on mission work in Haiti. It was very interesting and quite eye opening. Even our least fortunate individuals in this country have so much more than those people in the villages in Haiti. We have so much to be thankful for!

Wow! Love the family photo, and the Humpty Dumpty reference.
